LUXEMBOURG

This small country is often forgotten when thinking about a European travel destination, but this country has undeniable charm. From the medieval, fairytale castles that are around, what seems like, every corner to the thriving modern cities, Luxembourg is a must-visit in my opinion! This is the perfect getaway in Europe and it has everything you want for enjoying a short time away from home.

Best time to visit

Luxembourg is an all-year travel destination, but the peak season would be between June and August in the summer months. July is the busiest month in summer, because of the start of the summer vacation around Europe. The summer is so popular, because of the pleasant temperatures, longer days, and some festivities that take place like highland games.

I traveled to Luxembourg in June in the middle of a heatwave and would preferred to have a bit more mild temperature to travel around the country.

Winter

December - March

This time of period is perfect for a cozy winter escape where you can enjoy this country with some snow. As a bonus, there will be fewer crowds.

Spring

April - May

During these months, you will get a chance to do some amazing hikes, but with less money spent as it’s shoulder season. The weather will also not be as hot as in the summer months.

Summer

June - August

This will be the busiest time to visit Luxembourg, but you’ll also have the best chance of good weather AND all the hiking trails to be open. The downside would be the prices that will increase.

Autumn

September - November

Fall is an excellent time to visit Luxembourg, because of the colorful foliage! As a bonus, it’s less expensive to see, but this period has more rainfall, so you won’t be able to do everything.
